Littleton Leadership Academy
The Littleton Leadership Academy (LLA) fosters civic leadership by equipping participants with the knowledge, relationships, and engagement opportunities needed to make a meaningful impact in the community. Diverse leaders are empowered to engage with integrity, innovation, creativity, and a commitment to positive impact.
Throughout the program, participants connect with civic leaders, gain insight into key organizations, and explore the complex socioeconomic issues shaping the City of Littleton. At the same time, LLA emphasizes personal leadership development through guided reflection and interactive learning, helping participants better understand their leadership style, clarify their values, and lead with authenticity and purpose.
Each cohort develops strong, lasting relationships that extend beyond the program. As graduates join the growing alumni network, their connections span industries, organizations, and interests to foster a collaborative community of informed, engaged, and empowered leaders dedicated to strengthening the community.

LLA empowers participants to grow as leaders while making a meaningful impact in the community by helping them to:
- Discover their leadership style
- Build valuable connections with civic and community leaders
- Gain insight into local issues and decision-making
- Develop a network of engaged individuals dedicated to shaping Littleton's future
LLA meets for 10 full-day sessions on the third Friday of each month from January through October. Held at a variety of locations throughout Littleton, these immersive sessions provide participants with firsthand insights into the community, its leadership, and the issues that impact its future. Some of the topics explored include:

- Education Systems
- Land Use and Infrastructure
- Nonprofit Leadership
- Health and Wellness
- Elections and Economic Development
- State and City Government Processes
- Arts and Culture
The Littleton Leadership Academy welcomes both emerging and established leaders from all sectors who are collaborative, community-minded, and committed to personal leadership development and civic engagement. Participants are expected to fully engage in the program, including attendance at all sessions and active involvement in LLA projects, committees, and community events. Graduates are encouraged to remain connected as LLA Alumni and continue contributing to Academy initiatives, programs, and community-focused efforts.
Program Cost: $2,000 per participant. Limited scholarship opportunities are available.
Applicant Requirements:
- Live or work in Littleton
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Demonstrate an interest in leadership, community involvement, and civic engagement
- Commit to full participation in the program, including attendance at sessions and engagement in LLA projects, committees, and community events
Littleton Leadership Academy empowers participants and alumni to impact our community as they:

- Strengthen businesses and civic organizations
- Inspire others to get involved and give back
LLA rises from a strong tradition of civic engagement that began with the Littleton Community Retreat in 1975. In 2015, former mayors and council members reimagined this experience into a structured 10-month program featuring immersive, full-day monthly sessions.
Relaunched in 2024 by Arapahoe Community College (ĢƵ), the Littleton Leadership Academy continues to cultivate informed, connected, and engaged community leaders.
